You’ve never seen post-workout skincare like this.

I certainly haven’t.

It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with what Beautycounter is doing. But that doesn’t mean it’s the ONLY thing I try out when giving my skin the best care possible.

And when I heard about FRÉ’s Detox Me post-workout mask, I had to give it a try.

Because if there’s one thing I know, it’s that I sweat. A lot. And I work out. A lot.

And if you’re doing all the other things in the world to keep your skin clear (eating right, washing your face 2x/day, sleeping enough, supplementing with collagen) you STILL need to address that post-workout gunk.

And I haven’t found anything that does that… until this stuff.

What makes FRÉ Detox Me different?

Besides the fact that it’s literally designed to clear out the post-workout crap that builds up from sweating a lot, I needed to know what specifically it contained.

Because I’m not about to smear a bunch of chemicals on my face. Been there, done that, ruined my skin with it.

To my surprise, all FRÉ products are vegan and proven to work.

Like I already mentioned in my Beautycounter review, I don’t mind if something isn’t 100% natural. But it has to be proven effective AS WELL AS safe.

So what’s that?

Argania Active Complex is derived from the Argan tree, native to Morocco. If you’ve looked at beauty labels before, you’ve probably heard of Argan Oil already.

This particular complex is one that the chemists at FRÉ have developed to remain safe, but extract further benefits from the oil.

The benefits of Argania Active Complex include:

• Antioxidants - these help fight off cell-aging free radicals

• Stem cells - the first known plant-derived stem cells that have positive effects on living human skin

• Essential fatty acids - called “essential” because the body needs them, but cannot make them on its own. These help maintain the integrity of our cells’ structure

• Sterols - these form the structure of the outermost layers of skin, making it stronger & helping it to thrive longer

Detox Me by FRÉ - User Review

So, now that we know some of the benefits… is it any fun to use?

The tl;dr version is: YES!

I’ve been wanting to find some sort of post-workout specific product like this for a LONG time, and it feels like my prayers & complaints have finally been answered by Detox Me.

Basically, this stuff feels & looks like light blue marshmallow fluff.

Everything about it is appealing: the texture, how well it spreads (so you don’t need a lot at once), how it feels on your face.

The minty coolness on your skin when you’re wearing it really makes you feel like your pores are getting that deep-clean they need after a hard workout.

And if you’re like me, you probably go into a workout with your makeup from the day on (not smart, but it happens). The gunk from all of that just feels flushed away after your 2-10 minute Detox Me session.

The reason I list that time window to be so varied is because different skin type should wear Detox Me for different lengths of time.

If you have “normal” skin, you only need to wear it for 1-2 minutes!

And if your skin tends to be more oily, a 5-10 minute window is more appropriate. I’d assume this is because oily skin is more acne-prone, and the fact that extra oil adds extra gunk to your pores.

I have combination skin, so a solid 5 minute time frame seems to work just perfectly for me!

I genuinely look forward to the 3-4 times per week I use this product. It feels like I’m not only washing away the workout’s grease, but all of the buildup from life since the last time I used Detox Me.
