What does Naked Brownie taste like?
First and foremost, the taste of these brownies is absolutely fantastic. They've got a strong chocolatey flavor and the mix even has a bunch of chocolate chips already included in it.
When you make a full batch, these brownies hold up and don’t get gross if you choose to store them for a few days.
However, they don’t maintain their soft texture after sitting out for a few days (even in a sealed container). So, I’d recommend making just the number of servings you’ll enjoy in a day or two so they have the best taste and texture possible.
When first out of the oven, these brownies are soft and very similar to “regular” brownies. They’ve got a thin, crunchy layer externally and are warm and soft on the inside. Those chocolate chips melt nicely and add a great, homemade-seeming touch.
Once they cool and settle a bit more, the flavor remains brownie-like but the texture is lighter than you’d expect from a brownie, and slightly crunchier.
But don’t get me wrong: these are very satisfying with a glass of your favorite healthy milk, and you’ll still feel good after eating them.
And personally, I’ve always been a batter chick - and this batter is SPOT-ON. So, if you want a clean brownie batter to enjoy once in a while…I’d highly recommend that, too. ;)
Baking with Naked Brownie
The recipe on the back of the tub calls for 5 servings of mix to bake a full tray of brownies, and takes about 25 minutes to cook and cool before eating.
The only things you need are the mix and water, which is always great to see.
If you want to make a personal serving, here’s what I figured out for myself. Feel free to steal it, since a single-serving recipe isn’t on the tub.
Single-serving Naked Brownie recipe
1 serving (2 scoops) Naked Brownie mix
1-2oz water (pour it slowly)
Add 2 scoops of Naked Brownie to a mug or mini ramekin. Slowly add water while mixing the powder - it will get to brownie consistency faster than you think. You can always add a little more water if you need, so go slow!
Once your brownie mixture is reached, put the ramekin into the microwave for about 30 seconds. Yes, it’s that fast! Watch the bownie to make sure it doesn’t overflow on you. Add a few extra seconds as needed.
Remove from the microwave and let cool for 5 minutes, then enjoy!
Healthy protein brownie mix?
One thing that really sets this apart from other “healthy brownies” is the fact that they're packed with protein. Each serving of the mix contains 15 grams of protein, making it an excellent post-workout snack or a guilt-free indulgence any time of day.
But what I love most about Naked Nutrition's Brownie mix is the quality of the ingredients.
Unlike other protein-packed desserts that are loaded with artificial sweeteners and other unhealthy additives, these brownies are made with simple, natural ingredients that are actually good for you.
A few of those ingredients and their benefits include:
Organic Coconut Sugar: Instead of using refined white sugar, this brownie mix is sweetened with organic coconut sugar. This natural sweetener has a lower glycemic index than traditional sugar, which means it won't cause the same blood sugar spikes and crashes. It also contains small amounts of important nutrients like iron, zinc, and calcium.
Almond Flour: Almond flour is a fantastic alternative to wheat flour for those who are gluten-free or simply looking to reduce their intake of processed grains. It's rich in healthy fats and protein, and has been shown to help regulate blood sugar levels and reduce inflammation in the body.
Cocoa Powder: Cocoa powder is a rich source of flavanols, which are potent antioxidants that can help protect against oxidative stress and inflammation. Studies have also suggested that cocoa flavanols may improve cardiovascular health by improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure.
Grass-Fed Whey Protein: This brownie mix contains 20 grams of grass-fed whey protein per serving, which is a great way to support muscle growth and recovery. Whey protein is also rich in essential amino acids, which are the building blocks of muscle tissue.
Let’s zoom in: why Grass-fed whey protein?
For starters, the protein in these brownies comes from Naked Nutrition's signature grass-fed whey protein. This high-quality protein source is not only delicious, but it also has a number of health benefits.
According to a study published in the International Journal of Food Science and Technology, grass-fed whey protein contains higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than conventional whey protein.
These compounds have been shown to have anti-inflammatory and weight loss benefits, making Naked Nutrition's whey protein an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve their overall health and wellness.
